Commissioning of the Early Warning System

The Office of the Chief Secretary, Tobago House of Assembly (THA) in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy will commission the island’s Multi-Hazard Early Warning Sirens this week.

The Commissioning Ceremony would be held at the Fort King George site, Fort King George Scarborough, Thursday 11th July 2015.

The Ceremony would commence at 110:00am.

The U.S. Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires Margaret B. Diop and Chief Secretary, THA the Honorable Orville London will deliver remarks at the ceremony.

The newly installed Early Warning Sirens managed by the Tobago Emergency Management Agency, sponsored by the U.S Embassy are installed at Store Bay Heritage Park and Fort King George.  These sirens are valued at a total of US $28,000.00. They will be used to notify the public of multi-hazards such as Tsunamis, Earthquakes and Hurricanes.
