Hospital Based Management of Mass Casualty Incidents HBMCI
The United States Government through the Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security and the Office of Antiterrorism Assistance (ATA) held a Hospital Based Management of Mass Casualty Incidents in Tobago.
The objective of this training is to provide 24 senior hospital administrators, doctors, nurses, ambulance service staff, and other emergency responders the skills required to coordinate the preparation and management of a mass casualty incident (MCI). Using lecture, discussion, case studies, and practical exercises.The Hospital Based Management of Mass Casualty Incident introduces participants to the skills and knowledge required to maintain hospital operations during a Mass Casualty Incident.
These 23 persons consist of members from the Tobago Emergency Management Agency, the Community Emergency Response Team, the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service- Tobago Division, Tobago Regional Health Authority, Tobago Emergency Medical Services, Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force Reserves and the County Medical Office of Health.
It is expected at the end of this course that relative personnel develop new policies, enhance existing policies integrating external stakeholders or other agencies.
The course commenced on 19th May 2014 at the Scarborough General Hospital Lecture Room #16 and ended on the 23rd May 2014 from the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
