Over the past four (4) days the island has experienced a series of thunder showers and gusty winds as a result of the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

The Tobago Emergency Management Agency has had a total of 138 incident reports in the past four days. Information from the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service indicated that the island was however not under any Tropical Storm Threat, Watch or Warning.

The impact of the squall left the island with a value of $800,000.00 in residential damage.On Sunday 11th October 2015 the Emergency Operations Centre was once again activated and on high alert. Of the 138 incident reports there were a total of 22 incident reports on Sunday, 4 of which were deemed critical.

Areas affected were, Castara,Concordia, Darryl Spring, DesVignes Road,Friendsfield, Hope, Mary’s Hill , Patience Hill, Riseland, Roxborough, Signal Hill and Speyside.

On Monday 12th October 2015, the Tobago Disaster Management Committee would once again assemble at the Emergency Operations Centre to discuss our way forward.
