The Tobago Emergency Management Agency installs two additional Multi- Hazard Early Warning Systems
The Tobago Emergency Management Agency will begin the process of installing two additional Multi- Hazard Early Warning Systems, between the 27th of April 2015 and the 30th of April 2015. The Early Warning Systems would be strategically placed at the Store Bay Heritage Park (-60.726760˚, 11.177855˚) South West and Fort King George (-60.726987˚, 11.177678˚) of the island of Tobago.
At this time site preparations has begun at the Fort King George site as well as the Store Bay Heritage Park.
This is part of the Agency’s efforts to enhance both the Scarborough and environs Emergency Evacuation Plan and the South West Emergency Evacuation Plan.
These installations will ensure in the event that these high risk communities are threatened by any hazard, which may warrant an evacuation, persons can be forewarned in a timely manner.
The public is further advised that as a result of the installation exercise; audible siren tones may be heard during the period of testing between the 27th and 30th of April 2015. Therefore all members of the public are asked not to be alarmed.
